Garden Classes - Book now for March 2013

More and more people are discovering just how important local knowledge is when it comes to your garden at home. Sure; you can plunge yourself into those thick mind-boggling gardening books out there, OR you can enjoy learning along with other like-minded people as you go.

You too can become a Practical Gardener, just like hundreds of others in the Illawarra area. All you need to do is sign up and attend a month-by-month garden class held by Richard Moran at the Wollongong Wholesale Nursery in Albion Park
There are limited spaces THIS MONTH so you need to be quick.

FREE GIFTS ON THE DAY and each member receives 20% discount with most items ON THE DAY. Conditions apply...(no further discount on seedlings, herbs, potted colour & mega punnets).

Cost: $35 per class for 3.5 hrs of fun-while-you-learn; including a tea break to quench your thirst. 
Payment made to Richard (not to the nursery) on the day by cash or cheque. Sorry, no Credit Card or Eftpos available

1. 10 top jobs to do this month

2 .Annuals and potted colour

3. Vegie guide

4. Vegies being picked now

5. Whose listening in class (names and pictures)

6. Soil structure, how to improve

7.  Choosing vegies for soil type

8. Kaffir Lime & Native Finger Lime

9. Re -visiting the no dig bed to remove weeds and planting of new vegies, plus cultivating techniques. Starting to prepare beds for winter crops

Tea break (Coffee tea and juice with cakes and biscuits’ supplied)

10. Curry leaf tree  

11. Bok Choy & Pak Choy

12. Kale

13. Beets

14. Growing air plants

15. Making a terrarium, (Mother’s day gift)  

16. What are we going to propagate this month, from seed, division and cuttings (you get to keep what you propagate)

Sharing your own produce, enjoying lots of free giveaways, swapping seeds, buying garden items at a reduced cost, and eating lovely fresh produce are just some of the many benefits you will encounter along  the way.
